Sketch London: Afternoon Tea

My husband and I love traveling to London. There is so much to discover, so many restaurants to explore and a variety of cocktail bars to check out. This trip, our target was checking out the Afternoon Tea scene of London.
Sketch London was recommended to us from a Londoner friend. Recommended time to go is 4pm to enjoy tea and a light meal… not to replace dinner.
The building does, however, consist of three other bars and two other restaurants including a two star Michelin which are also recommended. It has been added to our ongoing list of place to go in London. For now, we are very happy with the Afternoon Tea.

Here are the top things we noticed:

Ambience

This 18th Century townhouse Tea Room is quite a quirky and unique place as the colour pink is splashed everywhere in the room! You get this feeling of stepping into one of Willy Wonka’s spectacular rooms. Live string quartet was playing in the background upon arrival and the staff were extremely friendly. But the best feature are the restrooms! Yes, the restrooms. An Alice in Wonderland experience appears here. You really have to see it to believe it.

Toilets are in each pod. And hats to pull down and wear if you like are above each sink.

Tea Selection

Their tea selection is quite impressive. You are able to receive as much tea as you would like to and change them up as you please. From Chinese to Japanese to English Tea to Herbal Teas, there are 50+ to choose from in the ‘Pick your Pot’ Menu. My personal favourite was the Lemongrass & Ginger.

Food Variety

We loved it! There was more sweet than savory treats; however, you are allowed to ask for any specific treat you enjoyed the most for a second round. At first you think this is great, and then you realise it is impossible because you are so full! I still went for a second round of the delicious and soft chocolate slice… I have the sweet tooth in the family.

Price

The price of this lovely Afternoon Tea Experience at Sketch is £47. With a glass of champagne, it is then £57. Although this is one of the more expensive Afternoon Teas you can get in London, we were very happy with the price and what we got for it. It was definitely a memorable experience.
